Yeah I don’t really get it either.

Is the idea “go for the win because if we tie here and they get in FG range it’s over either way”?

I guess I can see the logic in it a bit.

Tie the game. Give the defense a chance. One mugged snap or off target pass and you might have the ball back.

Not fixed, as in pro wrestling match outcomes, but the league absolutely makes it harder on some teams and easier on others to come away with a win in certain games. If they can increase the win probability of the Chiefs by, say, 15% by making calls or no calls beneficial to them at strategic points of the game, I believe they do it.The reasons WHY it is done remains speculation. I'd say star power of certain players and betting are two of the reasons.

I think Taylor has lost his confidence. I’d replace him. He’s lost his mojo and makes weird calls. Throwing long to Burton on 4th and 2 is absurd.

The defense that gave up four straight touchdowns?

I think that goal line one to him and then going for Gesicki was Joe overthinking it. Especially after the time out and they still had Chase 1 on 1. It’s almost like he was playing thinking “surely they won’t let me get away with throwing to him EVERY time?”

It wasn't the right read. Burrow had Chase wide open on that play.

I don't believe there was a second shooter in the grassy knoll in November of '63 but I absolutely don't trust Roger Goodell and his goon squad. Ol' Rog' is up to something.

I don't buy that crap , either. Every damn person here on RZ saw it but the official looking right at it , didn't. No way. He didn't miss it. He just wasn't about to call it.

Still think there's hope. I truly see this team finishing 6-1.

I mean yeah we’re watching on TV with a ton of replays and angles, they’re on the field where a bunch of crap is happening super fast in the thick of it.

The fact that they missed 2 facemasks just makes me think they’re bad at catching face masks because they suck at their jobs.

That's the 2nd nail in the coffin.

Next loss is the 3rd nail in the coffin and the last loss they can receive.

They'd have overturned the catch on 4th and 10 if they wanted to "fix" the game. Would have been a reasonable call.

If anything they’d be ecstatic to have Burrow be on a championship caliber team, ongoing rivalry with the Chiefs etc.

The refs are simply incompetent at their jobs. Simple as.
People are confused by incompetence though when they see the ref looking right at something and they don't call it which I've noticed happening more this year than I can ever remember before, not just with the Bengals. They swallow their whistles at times in a completely aware way - like they clearly are looking at what happened sometimes - and we don't know why. I assume there's a reason, and sure it's probably not "screw the Bengals", I just don't know what it is.
