Bengals bringing in Xavien Howard for a visit. I hope they don't sign him. I'd rather miss the playoffs than root for that guy.
Also bringing in Fournette for a visit, which I'm more interested in.

That would be a decision to be made in 2030 when the extension he signed just last year ends. That doesn't even account for the two franchise tags they could use after that to keep him even longer. The Bengals have a lot more pressing issues than to worry about something at least six years away.

12:57pm: Howard received an offer after his workout concluded, Garafolo notes in an update. No deal was reached between team and player, however. As a result, Howard will now resume training on his own as he awaits another opportunity.

Burrow will be here barring retirement or a career ending injury.
There's a difference between him and Carson Palmer in that Palmer wasn't from here. Burrow is as close to a local talent as Pete Rose and Barry Larkin. He isn't going to demand a trade out.
That said, I'm all in favor of dealing Chase in the offseason and using what KC did as a blueprint for a defensive rebuild.
Burrow will stay here as long as he wants and will probably have a career arc similar to Dan Marino. Made it to the Super Bowl his second year but won't have a defense to ever get him back.

No way on Chase. Credit to the Chiefs, but this version of them was not the plan. They thought they could go out and replace Tyreek's offense with young guys and cheaper veterans. That has not worked at all. They struck out at every turn, and their offense is terrible. They've been able to make it work because they hit home runs in the draft on defense, they have one of the greatest HCs and DCs of all time. Combination of good organization and good draft variance.
The Bengals would be crazy to let an elite WR go when they're already going to lose Tee. They need to get the defense to the level of mediocre, and they shouldn't need to sacrifice everything on offense to make that happen.

The Bengals today signed HB Gary Brightwell to the practice squad.
Brightwell (6-1, 218), a fourth-year player out of the University of Arizona, originally was a sixth-round draft pick of the N.Y. Giants in 2021. He has played in 39 regular-season games for the Giants (2021-23) and Cleveland Browns ('24), totaling 41 rushing attempts for 164 yards and one TD. He also has caught 11 passes for 92 yards and returned 28 kickoffs for 591 yards (21.1 average). He was released from the Browns' practice squad on Oct. 29.
