When the Rangers stop laughing, they might say yes if you'd throw in Spencer Steer and Chase Petty. Garcia is their clean-up hitter and they want to win. Why would they trade him.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

    1. Jonathan India (+?) to NYY for Everson Periera & Brock Selvidge
    2. Alexis Diaz, Reece Hinds & Ricardo Cabrera (or) Noelvi Marte to TEX for Adolis Garcia & Josh Smith (+?)
    3. Sign Jacob Stallings
    4. Sign a solid vet high-leverage reliever to support Ashcraft
    5. Sign Aroldis Chapman (Reds FO would never do it)
    6. Sign a secondary FA starter as insurance against a rotation injury

    * Prediction: Elly & Edwin Arroyo are the right side of the INF by the ASB
Didn’t this guy Adonis Garcia have a .284 OBP? Didn’t this guy Periera strike out 32% at AAA and hit .150 in a trial with the Yankees? I never heard of these guys so maybe I have the wrong people. As for Ashcraft, has he ever closed a game in his career? If he fails, then what?

I agree that giving India away for Periera is an overpay. Dude has massive K% issues in AAA. He's a notch better than Rece Hinds. I thought we were finished being the farm system for the Yankees?

Doyle is a .630 road OPS guy in 138 games. There was 101 point difference in his home and away BAbip in 2024. Seeing as GABP isn't the worlds biggest OF I'm guessing he'll be around that .260 BAbip as opposed to the .360 he did at Coors.
Story's been injured for most of his time in Boston. It's impossible to know what he'd have done if he'd been healthy. As for Arenado, he had a 121 OPS+ during his time in Colorado and has a 119 OPS+ during his four seasons in St. Louis. Essentially the same guy. That's generally what happens with Rockies hitters. They post lopsided home/road splits in Colorado, then their numbers level out when they go back down to sea level.

How about the DBacks’ Jorge Barrosa?

Maybe not as exciting as some other names that have been thrown around, but he’s currently blocked by Corbin Carroll and has pressure from the rear in the form of Druw Jones. He’s a really good defensive CF, is a switch hitter who doesn’t strike out much, and knows how to take a walk. He likely won’t ever develop much in the power department, but could fill a niche offensively where the Reds struggle. Another corner addition would probably still be in order, but I like the fit.

    Re: Outfield trade targets

Can’t chime in on the MLB landscape of possibilities, but I’ll throw this out there:

Braves have a ton of young pitching in their system. In their OF, they are looking at starting 2025 with an OF of Harris II in CF flanked by Jarred Kelenic (.679 OPS) in left and TBD in RF until Acuna comes back from his ACL. There are 0 options in house for those OF slots, so a bat like Steer, Fraley or Friedl might appeal to them. Get young pitching (MLB ready in 2026 or 2027) in return from Atlanta, then use the additional arms either directly or indirectly to address whatever you need most in the Cincinnati OF.

    Some names I’m interested in

Tier A (trade 2 of our top 5 prospects)
    Luis Robert
    Wilyer Abreu
    Brenton Doyle
    Alec Bohm

Tier B (trade 1 of top 5 plus filler)
    Lourdes Gurriel
    Jesus Sanchez
    Trevor Larnach

Tier C (MLB filler and MiLB filler)
    Ryan McMahon
    Ryan O’Hearn

I’m also interested in a salary swap of Jeimer for someone like Jordan Montgomery, Marcus Stroman, etc.

Jeimer for Montgomery/Barrosa would be an interesting trade for both sides.

Phillies shopping Nick Castellanos with two years remaining for a total $40 million. Is a reunion possible? The return would be minimal as the Phillies are looking to clear payroll and retooling their roster.

Those two are from slightly north of Texas.

FWIW, I drank a Pupper's on Friday night and I met JJ Frankie JJ.

Naturally they got his best years of that contract already, and want to get out of the decline.

I'd pass personally, he should be at DH and the Reds already have a ton of OBP challenged DH-types.
