    Bronson Arroyo

    Guys,
I picked up Bronson Arroyo, the 5th starter for the Red Sox, this past week. So far he's 2-1 with a 3.53 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. He faces Roy Halladay at home tonight. The question I have. Should I drop Arroyo and pick up Jose Contreras, who was dropped in my league. I'm in dire need of some strikeouts from my pitchers. Arroyo has K'd 29 in 35.2 IP, but Contreras is a pitcher capable of striking out 10 in a game. Do you think Contreras will rebound after his demotion, or should I hang onto Arroyo?

    Re: Bronson Arroyo

I have zero faith in Contreras. I think he will get roughed up pretty bad in between quality outings. Furthermore, Arroyo has only walked 10 batters in 41.2 innings, while striking out 31. Pretty solid, so here is the coin toss.

I would go with Contreras if you can afford some damage to your ratios, but I think Arroyo will put up a solid K numbers the rest of the season, and help in the other cats.
