Dude, Harang hardly pitched his butt off. He was getting rocked by Gonzalez and Burnett before the end of the 6th and was pitching behind in the count since the 2nd inning. He was fortunate the Marlins didn't pummel him.

Griffey is done. I've given him the benefit of the doubt that he is still recovering, but if that is the case, he should not be playing every day. Time for the Reds manager to quit worrying about who is getting paid what, and who has a reputation and who doesn't, and attempt to put his best eight bats in the lineup and let the other stiffs fight for ABs. I was sick all night seeing Griffey go through those horrible at bats knowing Austin Kearns is sitting on the bench collecting dust while the real statue is playing. Ryan Freel has delivered every time they've called on him, let Jimenez work out of his slump in BP or down in the lineup. Burnett was very beatable in the early going, but that top of the order could do nothing to make it happen.

Time to quit being the nice organization and start cutting loose folks who don't earn their keep, or sit the guy on the bench regardless of his salary when he doesn't have it anymore. Nice organizations will have a lot of hangers on. Winning organizations cut loose guys with bad contracts and try to figure how not to write bad contracts, not keep on running guys out there based on the size of their paycheck (see Griffey, Graves).

Without some better lienups and some luck this could very easily turn into a 1-5 or 0-6 road trip.

Guys that take a walk are the devil incarnate in this organization.

Miley is lacking the gravitas. A low paid career minor leaguer with little job security is not the man to send Jr to the bench.

    Just plain wrong.
C'mon, man, he is the career leader in pinch hits, that makes him, like, the best pinch hitter ever.

Did't hear or see the game, and I'm a real pesimist, but the pitching continues to be halfway ok which is the key to a decent season. The offense will come around.

it really is amazing to watch the alleged offense on this team scratch and claw for 2 runs every game

You have to put in the best offense to win.

.182/.357/.182 in his last five games probably has something to do with it.

    Griffey:.190/.346/.333
    Dunn: .444/.583/1.056
    Pena: .391/.440/1.000
