The article in my local paper said that Hudson had a "solid outing." Yes, he only gave up three hits, but surrendering 5 earned runs in six innings gave him an ERA of 7.50. Small sample, but a 7.50 ERA ain't solid over the long haul.

Of course, Baltimore and Boston are next and if that's not enough to force a change, nothing is.

But if the Red Sox sweep the Reds, they'll probably just look at that as being beat by the reigning world champs, and still won't see the real problem.
