What's the over/under on the number of innings Ortiz goes today? I'll put in for 4.1.

The starting rotation, the pen and the FO bother me a lot more than does the batting order.

With the premise of giving your best hitter the most abs, why one would want dunn in the middle of the order against a good lefty is beyond me. Plus, Miley was sitting him against lefties, so at least he's in the lineup. Dunn has accomplished a lot in his young career, but hitting lefties is still an area that needs work.
BTW, LaRussa will drop Edmonds down in the order to the 6 hole against lefties, I even think I've seen him bat him 7th at times. And LaRussa's record sucks

My only problem with Dunn hitting 7th against a lefty (which as WOY pointed out has merit) is Aurilia batting second.
Once again, I realize Aurilia has been hot of late, but never, ever, ever should Aurilia be getting more at bats in a game than Casey, Griffey, Randa (yes, even Randa and yes, this is still Puffy typing), Pena and even Dunn against a lefty.
If Aurilia stays hot then he provides protection in the short term for Dunn. But he should never, ever be batting second. Never.

How long before Aurilia bats lead off and Randa goes to the 2 spot?

In my book, the only position Aurilia should occupy is next to the cooler, or by the sunflower seeds.Originally Posted by Puffy
