Taveras reaches on fielding error by Lopez.

there should be fielding practice right after the game, then run 15 laps around the field.

Claussen is taking himself out of the game due to lack of caring behind the mound(and above it).

Lopez tried to make a bare handed grab and the ball took a spinning hop on him. The play at first would have been close even if he makes the grab.

Looked to me that Lopez overran the ball. Had to make a bare hand play because he went past the ball moving left.

If you just focus on the Reds defense you start to understand their record. Can't blame the pitching the way Claussen is going today, which is excellent.

They just announced that the error charged to Lopez has been changed to a hit for Taveras.

The fact that Claussen continues to improve as a pitcher despite the team playing worse overall is a real testament to the young man. It seems like Harang is being sucked into the gravitational pull (6.67 ERA in June) of this bad team, but Claussen is not. Good for him. I hope Harang can right the ship because he's been awful now for his 6th start in a row.

You wanna talk about "shutting up and playing": Claussen's doing just that.

2-0 Astros after 3 innings.... I wish the Astros had bad defense like the Reds.

He tried to pick it barehanded because Taveras was motoring. He apparently judged it to be the only chance to get him.

It was a tough chance barehanded.
