Day game after night game, not surprised that a couple of regulars got the day off. With Freel and Kearns back, we can rest a regular and still start a major-league ballplayer. Imagine that.

Plus they are in the middle of a 17 game in a row stretch, aren't they? I would guess that even though they just had a break with the AS game, Narron will give almost everyone a day off sometime in the next week.
Will trade this space for a #1 starter.

As Earl Weaver said, "If they are on the bench I'm going to use them."

I hope this is a sneek preview of the 2006 lineup except with Encarnacion in and Aurilia out.

I've been thinking Randa needs a day off -- seems like he was pressing. Casey looked to be gimping just a bit yesterday.

Despite the denials, I have to wonder if Kearns is being showcased.

He never had trouble throwing them. It's just that they're always being hit before he ever has a chance to throw three.

I had a dream that Randa was traded last night, and my jaw dropped at the return it was so good. Of course, it was only a dream.

I'll bet they are passing out drool buckets in the Cubs dugout since I'm sure they are salivating at the opportunity to face Milton.
