Memo to the Angels: You need Sean Casey desperately. Please submit an offer the Reds can't refuse to one Mr. Dan O'Brien before your club gets swallowed whole by the A's and Yankees.

I'm with you man, that ball got all the way to the wall. What game is he watching? Oh well, run scored either way.

I'll argue otherwise. The defense is monumentally, historically, epochal-ly atrocious as well .

Ah, well done spotting a hole in my argument. Nonetheless, I'm just trying to get the point across that it's not by a lack of production offensively that the Reds aren't winning. It's the lack of defense that kills this team.

The ball got away from the catcher. Stevie Wonder could have scored, with no help from the third base coach.

    He stayed put at third.

He did score, eventually, though. But he could have scored easily on that play.

Lack of defense? I thought it was lack of pitching?

If by lack of defense, you mean we have no one positioned in the 10th row of the outfield seats, I would agree.

However, management has deemed it unwise to spend money on tickets for our outfielders.

When I said defense, I was referring to both the fielding and pitching of the Reds. Both acting to stop production from their opponents offense - and doing a poor job of it in the case of the Reds.

For the record the defense is really bad too.

Sure is and, like I said, easily attainable. All you need is the best offense in the league and you're automatically guaranteed to outscore every other team every day of the season all season long. Easy as pie.
