The guy's a working-class hero ballplayer straight out of central casting. We hear a lot about fans who supposedly like stats more than baseball on this site. LaRue's lack of appeal in some circles is rapidly convincing me that a number of fans like batting average more than baseball.

Is it fair to say that Scott Williamson is the only decent pitcher this organization has produced since Tom Browning, and that Trader Jack and Gullet ruined him by overworking him his rookie year?

Williamson also lost some MPH off his fastball like Claussen did after surgery.

Larue's stats and his hard-nosed playing style should make him appeal to everyone. The guy is a top performer at his position and he's as tough as they come. What's not to like?

Willy wild as heck and the Cubs announcers are calling for an Encarnacion sac bunt right now.

Eddie might be the first guy to find out whether Scott's regained his movement in the strikezone.
