Garciaparra's single was the first Cubs hit since Barrett's homer in the second inning!

Man! Nothing makes my day like possibly not only sweeping the Cubs, but putting a HUGE hurt on them in doing so. Dusty can't be a happy camper (but I is).

I know this is out of context for the game thread, but I just started reading it and just had to comment on this.

Wow! Now there's a shallow statement if I've ever seen one!

I guess because the girl is beautiful, it makes her above dating a regular-looking guy (Adam is far from ugly), and if she does, she's a gold digger.

Beauty, BTW, is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty isn't just skin deep; it's a combination of a lot of things. I've seen numerous beautiful girls (women) and handsome guys that couldn't hold a candle in the personality department... all ego and the-world-owes-me a living mindset... a total turnoff.

In my eye, Adam is extremely attractive in many ways, though he's not often the most photogenic. Some of his pics are really good and others, not so hot. Just take a look at his various baseball cards. Regardless, I find none of them ugly. And, from what I hear, he's an extremely humble guy with a terrific personality and a variety of interests. Big, rumble/tumble, manly guy with an impish, boyish grin... just my type... if only I were younger.

Anyway, I digress. Here's a few particular favorites of mine:

Claussen seemed to have an aversion to throwing strikes to Barrett also.....what is the deal with this guy? He made BC work....and now might ruin EM's chance at a CG.

And this is why Ryan can never be counted on as a full-time starter. He's got the heart, but his body just won't cooperate

Best position for Freel = CF, but he'll burn himself out on the basepaths, regardless

Another injury risk given regular PT? Wily Mo

You might get 162 games/season combined between Freel and Pena in CF, if they can manage not to get hurt at the same time
    Never overlook the obvious
