It's a good thing then, that the Reds get to pay him 7 million to do it all again next year. Just like I said would happen.Originally Posted by OnBaseMachine

It is mindboggling how poor the Reds are at executing bunt plays both on offense and defense. I am aware, and tend to agree, with the criticisms of bunting with good hitters, and would not have had Freel bunting in the top of the eighth. But there is NO EXCUSE for our infield defenders to not be well-versed in dealing with the bunt, and there is even less excuse for our pitchers, who can't hit anyway, to not be able to get one down when asked. This may not cost us that many runs in the long run, but it is such an easy thing to fix, with just a little practice.
Mercker has had a good season, but he is really poor when he inherits runners. Is there somewhere to pull up the stat on that? I saw something on it earlier, but I don't know where I could check up on it.
actually it will be ~$8MOriginally Posted by Falls City Beer

Game Over.
Hart homers 8-3 Brewers.

Ok...so you can't win them all....
Has the REAL Standridge arrived?
It's really kind of sad in a way. Casey is a hitting machine, but it seems it's never when it counts. He'll forever be remembered in his last years here as a rally killer and a sure double killer. When he came to the Reds from Cleveland, I would never have believed it.Originally Posted by OnBaseMachine

That's the first time he's done that (I think). It happens -- he's been lights out up till this one bad dayOriginally Posted by Falls City Beer
Narrons had a bad game. Left Claussen 1 inning to long, used Standridge for 3rd straight day.
A hit an inning with a high BB rate and low K rate is not a recipe for success. Regression to the norm is likely to come hard.Originally Posted by Falls City Beer
