    I'm a person that doesn't diminish the importance of walks, but feels like sometimes they are too strongly critiqued when judging a player.

    That being said, I feel that players who draw a lot of walks typically show a good command of the strike zone, and more times than not, show good patience for their pitches as well as show an ability to lay off bad pitches.

    Jim Edmonds just got hurt slideing into home on a double steal. They showed the highlight on the Braves game.

    When we walk, we score. You can't give us free base runners and expect to escape damage.
