Game thread 9/4 Reds vs Braves

    Lopez
    Encarnacion
    Griffey
    Kearns
    Casey
    Pena
    Valentin
    Holbert
    Ortiz

I am now fully convinced that Narron doesn't look at stats when filling out lineups. Dunn is 3 for 5 with two doubles and a homerun in his career vs Horacio Ramirez. Instead of sitting him against Petitte a few days, who owns Dunn - they bench him against a guy that Dunn has always hit well.

BTW, Hal McCoy says Ortiz will be back next season. O'Brien should be tarred and feathered outside the GAB if he brings back Ortiz.

FWIW I bet Dunn would rather play at night in a dome in front of his parents then on a muggy afternoon in a day game following a night game.

Would anyone pinch hit Dunn or Cruz for Valentin provided they bring in a righty?

If a RH had come in, I would have brought in Dunn. Even though Valentin hits RH pitchers very well, and LH pitchers not at all ( other than the odd HR, obviously).

With the LF pitcher, I would have liked to see Larue. Not that he's so good against LH pitchers, but he's better than Valentin, and generally pretty good with the bases full.
