Then they should also shut down the rest of the players because they also run the risk of getting hurt.

On the surface, it seemed unnecessary to leave Harang in that long -- 131 pitches to go 6.2 is a bit of a laboring effort. And my initial reaction is always to be cautious with pitchers. But in context, it's not a big deal, I don't think. We're talking about a veteran, someone who's been taking the ball and going 110-120 on a regular basis all year, and we're talking about a single occurrence. It's neither a pattern of overwork, nor is it way out of line with his established ability. As long as Narron doesn't make a habit of it, it ought not be anything to worry about.

I just don't get Narron's obsession with Standridge.

O'Brien must be making Jason one of his "pets."

I agree that Harang shouldn't be up around 131 pitches in a September contest between second-division clubs. He's a hoss, but some care in handling would be appropriate.

Though, and I love being able to type this, the guy was off his game tonight and gave the club 6.2 IP of one-run baseball. How cool is that? Seriously, this guy's off nights are better than the on nights of most everyone who's pitched for the franchise this century.
