    OMG, this is aweful!!
Encarnacion throw tailed up the line pulling Casey off the bag. Cota was barrelling down the line and barely saw Casey attempt to swing around to apply the tag. Cota attempted to bend out of the way and he threw his left arm up (bent) to balance himself and his left forearm/elbow nailed casey right in the face. Casey's head snapped back and he went down pretty hard, layed there nearly motionless and finally moved after the trainer got out to the field.

It was completely unintentional on Cota's part. Nothing either he or Casey could do.

Oh man... Casey doesn't seem to get hurt often, but when he does, it always seems to be very traumatic. Remember when a ball hit him in the face and broke his eye socket?

Between innings they showed Casey on the stretcher talking on a cellphone on his way out of the stadium.

I don't know how he managed to hold onto the ball. He dropped like a stone. I wouldn't be suprised if he wasn't knocked out for a second or two. He did seem to be talking to the trainers as they were taking him off the field. That's a good sign. Hope he will be OK.

He was calling Garrett to see if it was ok to go to the hospital for an MRI.

Probably also was arranging for someone else to turn Garrett's bed down too.

A real player would have rubbed some dirt on it and stayed in the game.
