With a wife like that and the Reds in first place, how could you possibly have a pessimistic thought left in your head? Just pullin' your leg...great looking pics Ed!
"This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and what could be again." -- Terence Mann
I guess I'll never be able to shake the "pessimist" label. Once you tagged with something, it becomes who you are I suppose-- just ask Junior

Negative in the past, but always worth the read.
Martha Stewart and I say, "It's a good thing".
Say howdy to Vinny for me. Sounds like my kinda pal.![]()

Smile Ed. Geesh. Is your wife a Reds Fan too?
I've turned my wife into a big-time Reds fan. She realizes that if the Reds lose, I'm in a pissy mood. If the Reds win, things are peachy. It's in her best interest to follow the team in order to plan our weekday errands and weekends around the Reds schedule. If the Reds are on Extra Innings, forget about watching TV on the big screen...you are relegated to the 20" TV in the Reds Room.
Virginia Beach,
HOLY COW!! This is REALLY weird. My wife is not a big Reds fan, but she has come to root for them beause she wants me to be in a good mood, etc...
But this is just crazy.....
I too have a "Reds room". Well, mine is more of sports room becuase as many know, I'm a HUGE Redskins, Cleveland Cavs fan also, but same concept. In said room, I have a bigger screen that sits right next to a smaller tube. When the Reds are on EI, she watches the little TV, although I do normally give her soundWhen the Reds are on over-the-air stations, I normally switch it up for her, but this is an eerie coincidence. I know she gets annoyed that our shcedule revolves around the Reds during this time of the year, and that Sundays in the fall are FOREVER off-limits, but she also knows how important it is to me, so she just accepts it.
I just thought it was so weird hearing my life in YOUR post. Makes me feel less guilty
Oh, and TC, my wife will appreicate the "Martha" refrence, she's a big fan.![]()
Hey Ed...just realized you posted about my Reds room. I have several autographed baseballs, many framed Reds pictures including Tony Perez day tickets framed, Rob Arra pic of Cinergy with McGwire at bat, a collage of baseball cards, reds pillows, old fashion reds hats, blankets, bobbleheads, replicat cinergy field, trash can, cincy reds ave. street sign, money bank, etc. etc. etc. I also have a 'small' montage to Univ. of Michigan football (my wife is a big Bucs booster so it is small). Anyways, we love collecting the little gizmos and such to clutter the room. Anyways, we have digital cable and only have one box so when we are on Extra Innings, she knows that TV is fair game in the Reds room and the bedrooms. Forget about the big screen. Same relationship with winning and losing. When we go see a movie at 3pm on a Sat, she knows that the Reds are playing at night. Its funny that way, but she has learned to cope. Funny stuff Edskin. I really don't know what I would do without the passion I have for my teams. Fortunately, college football season is starting and its go time. Living in the DC/Baltimore NFL market, we get the skins and ravens ramrodded down our throats. actually, the skins are looking good for once and may have a decent year under spurrier.

Just browsing this forum, and I realized how much SKINNIER I was when this was originally posted. Yikes! In the name of full disclosure, I felt it necessary to post a current pic of myself. This really motivates me to get on the treadmill!
Nice pup![]()
Go Gators!
Thanks, his name is Vinny--he's awesome. We rescued him from www.petsandpeople.com, which is just a marvelous place. If any of you donate to animal shelters, this is one to think about. Amazing work they do. He's been a purely joyful addition to our family. We've had him since October of 2001, and we don't know what we'd do without him!
Ed:
My wife and I rescued a few dogs...we have two in the familynow.
One little Pom who like all Poms has major attitude . Then we have MY DOG...a Pointer/Collie mix who has to be the undeniably best dog in the world...his name is Nedd, named after Little Nedd Nederlander in The Threee Amigos.
We donate to Animal Shelters too, but only the no kill kind.
"Sometimes, it's not the sexiest moves that put you over the top," Krivsky said. "It's a series of transactions that help you get there."
Marty-- Oh yeah, the one we got Vinny from is a no-kill. As a matter of fact, they will take back any dog they adopt out for any reason at any time. It's true a labor of love for them, because Lord knows they see some horrible things.
Don't mean to crash in on your conversation, but we have had a great time with 3 different rescued greyhounds from www.teamgreyhound.com They do phenominal work with phenominal dogs. Next time you're looking to "rescue," I high ly recommend them. Lots of misconceptions about the breed. They are couch potatoes and truly awesome dogs and family members.
When all is said and done more is said than done.
Getting ready for the Cavs game.......Lebron fans will get it.
My wife saw this and said, "don't you ever get embarrassed?"
