    Homerun Predictions

Just a little game to see how many homeruns you think the Reds players will finish with. I believe there are 52 games left. Here are the current totals:

    Dunn-22
    Boone-17
    Branyan-9
    Kearns-8
    Walker-7
    Larkin-6
    LaRue-6
    Casey-5
    Griffey-4
    Larson-3

So there are the numbers and here are my guesses:

    Dunn-41
    Boone-26
    Branyan-16
    Kearns-11
    Walker-11
    Larkin-9
    Larue-14
    Casey-17
    Griffey-21
    Larson-8

Dunn- 43 (Major tear in August and ealry September coincides with big Cincinnati win streak and first place push.)

    Boone-21
(Due to cool down after two hot months. Will hit average dinger total & pay 160 games.)

    Branyan-19
(Playing a lot of LF and a bit of 1B, RF, and 3B, Branyan displays power stroke and makes Bowden Executive of the Year.)

    Kearns-11
(Power slump continues for the rest of this year, but next year, he busts out big time.)

    Walker-9
(Another due a cold spell. Besides, Boone will move him sometime this month.)

    Larkin-7
(Annual August injury prevents him from batting .300 this season, though the emergence of Larson and Branyan at 3B and Boone at SS lessens the impact on the team.)

    LaRue-8
(Stinnett and Miller will hit more. In less at-bats.)

    Casey-5
(No power and, with luck running all bad, will be put on shelf again for shoulder. Can't hit it hard with one hand unless you're Frank Howard, Gary Sheffield, or Jimmie Foxx.)

    Griffey-17
(Soon after Dunn begins hitting them hard, Junior follows, showing all Reds' fans what they've wanted to see for three years.)

    Larson-11
(Will play quite a bit of 3B with Larkin's injury and Casey's struggles. Will prove he belongs in the majors and will force a decision on Boone at SS/2B experiment in the off-season.)

Buckeye do you realize that you have predicted those 10 players to exactly double their HR totals. 87 at this point and 87 more the final 52 games.

    Heres' mine

    Walker- 10
    Larkin- 7

    Casey- 6
    Griffey- 20
    Larson- 7

Hmm...I didn't realize that, but it is sort of funny. I guess it just turns out that way because I think Griffey, Casey and Dunn are going to give us a lot of power in the last 2 months.

Dunn 33 (Goes crazy one or two series, but slumps balance out the clumps)
Boone 25 (Steady Eddie from here on out)
Branyan 17 (Man on a mission. Upside potential if given a chance to feast on September callups)
Griffey 15 (Competition spurs him to resurrect his game)
    Walker 13 (Enjoying spotlight)
Kearns 12 (Still defining his overall promise. Will post steady gains in subsequent years.)
Larue 9 (Now finding his stroke, but season's wear and tear take a toll)
Larkin 9 (Has the will and the craft, but the power is eluding him)
Casey 8 (Due to break out. Has to quickly lay disastrous season to rest. Extent of his injury dictates what he can accomplish short-term)
Larson 7 (Could go head-to-toe with the Big Boys if given the opportunity, but has to bide his time while management figures out if he's part of our future or just a trading chit. We could use his bat against southpaws, but defense and durability remain issues).

Dunn 40 Gets hot after cold, continues for rest of year.
Branyan* 25 Continues to impress with power.
    Boone 24 Keeps on hitting.
Griffey 21 Turns it on like Dunn.
Kearns 15 End power slump, preveiw for next year.
Casey 10 Starts to hit for power a little more.
    Walker 10 Continues to hit.
Larkin 8 Starts to hit, unless injured.
LaRue 8 Starts to hit for power.
Taylor 7 Good in bench role, makes best of it.
Larson 7 Shows he is ready for bigs.
Miller 6 Shows he's a good ML catcher.
Stinnett 5 Good backup for rest of the season.
    Mateo 3 Solid in September.
Clark 1 Good Pinch hitter until he gets sent down.
Castro 1 I think this is asking for too much.
Gonzalez 1 Good in bench role in September.
