anything with the Poston brothers & Drew Rosenhaus as agents, I'd stay away from.
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.
Then no Chad....
Stay away.
Go Gators!
Don't let him leave town. Send for his belongings. Sign him. All you have to do is look at his numbers in the one season he played under Marvin.
Love Arrington for the risk. Has a point to prove and is great with his hand on the ground.
If Marvin Lewis wants him, I want him.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.
If he's healthy, find a way to get 'er done.
Sign him up and convert us to the 3-4 ASAP!!
I get all googly when I think of Arrington, Simmons, Odell, Johnson, & Pollack fighting it out... maybe put Pollack on the line on some downs. That would be a FILTHY front 7!!! Throw in Madieu & Jackson and our 2 pro bowl corners.... mix in a little Sam Adams.... YOWZA YOWZA YOWZA!!! That'd be one sweet defense!
my sentiments exactly. Then draft Marcedes Lewis or another top tier TE in the 1st round, and LOOKOUT!Originally Posted by WilyMoROCKS
As much as I do like Sam Adams, if we get Lavar I don't think we need to fork over a lot of money for him. Stay in the 4-3, move Pollack to D-End opposite Justin Smith, and have a rotation of Thornton/Robinson/Smith/Geathers in the DT spots. Wow.
Go BLUE!!!
Too much stock is placed in a player's attitude, IMO. Judge him by his on-field performance.

Dont need to move to 3-4
Arrington and Pollack can just sorta walk around the line pre snap to cause confusion... 3-4, 4-3... who cares what the label is, afterall, its just whether or not the hand's on the ground or not.

That's exactly how I feel, and what I think they will do if the Arrington signing actually happens. They keep the 4-3, Simmons and Arrington flank Thurman in the middle and Pollack moves to end with J. Smith, but I still would like to see them sign a tackle, either Sam Adams or Grady Jackson since they are the two best the Bengals have been linked to. Geathers played alright as a tackle in passing downs last year, and as long as they had a monster as the other tackle (as Adams or Jackson wold be) then I think that would be the starting alignment. You still would have Bryan Robinson and Shaun Smith and maybe even Mathias Askew for the rotation of DT. I don't think John Thornton will be back but that's just my gut.Originally Posted by Benihana
There would still be quality depth around, Jonathan Fanene, while a small sample size, looked pretty good when he got in there and they can continue to develop him at end as well as Geathers still playing there in the rotation while one of the others gets in at DT. You'd still have Landon Johnson, Caleb Miller and Hannibal Navies at linebacker. Really nice and deep front seven overnight it would seem with just a couple rumored signings. Plus the secondary is better with Dexter Jackson and a healthy Madieu Williams joining O'Neal and James, and keeping Ratliff and Kaesviharn there for depth. Could be a great turnaround for the Bengals D.
