On a 2-0 pitch Dunn grounds out to third. 0-0 mid 1st.

I don't mind challenging the kid. I'm sure he's geared up for it. It might even pay off per FCB's quirky things happen. Yet Carpenter is one pitcher against whom I'd be inclined not to challenge the kid. That guy is death to RHBs.

Carpenter made 'em look bad in the first.

Freel had a long atbat but swung at a couple pitches that almost hit him on the hand.

Lopez took a ball and then three straight pitches over the plate.

Dunn got ahead 2-0 and then grounded out weakly on a pitch right down the middle.

The last time Aaron Harang faced the Cardinals?

June 20, 2005. The Cards starter that day? Chris Carpenter.

REDS lose, 6-1. Carpenter gets the win and Harang takes the loss. The REDS only run comes on a Felipe Lopez HR. The REDS manage 4 hits (Randa 2-4) and 9 Ks in the game.

    Harang: 6.1IP, 8H, 5ER, 5K, 3BB, 1HRA.

Also... the REDS lose Luis Lopez for the year w/ a torn hammy.

Also2... Dave Miley & Don Gullet are fired before the next game. Narron and Ruhle take over for the next game.
