Nice play by Dunn in foul territory.

According to Hal...Jerry almost put Hatteberg in the leadoff spot today
Gonzalez strikes out looking. 3-1 Dbacks mid 2nd.
That was a play that most average MLB CF's make, most likely standing up. It was a fairly routine fly ball that Junior simply didn't get to.
IMO, Junior is being incredibly selfish with his insistence on only playing CF. It's ridiculously clear that the overall team defense would benefit with someone with a better set of wheels in center right now.
Here's the problem: If you call-out Junior for his selfish stance on this issue, you get labeled a "Griffey Basher" and everyone starts talking about his off-field kindness.
To me, those are totally separate issues. Junior appears to be a kind, caring, charitable man who is very close with his family and friends. Seems like a good guy. However, good guys can still make selfish/poor decisions. I think Junior is flat-wrong on this issue, but it doesn't change my opinion of him as a human being.
That was more like it, Bronson.
One thing I really like about Arroyo is that he doesn't mess around with guys like Estrada, Hudson and Gonzalez. He chews right through them, doesn't make pitching to them any harder than it has to be.

If you have evidence that he's even been approached about changing positions, I'm all ears.Originally Posted by Edskin

The Reds are missing some really, really good pitches to hit. Lopez, Aurilia, and Dunn all got 2-0 fastball right down the middle and made an out.
Phillips lines a single to left.
Matt- you're right-- I'm basing it on the assumption that he has-- if he hasn't than Narron and company need to grow some cojones and ask him.
Ross grounds out to the pitcher. 3-1 Dbacks after 2.
I don't think Jr.'s got much of anything to do with it. I doubt the subject even gets broached with him. Probably there's a trade that needs to happen before the team considers moving him to another position (maybe it's even a trade of Jr. that they're angling for sometime this summer).Originally Posted by Edskin
My guess is Jr.'s view is that he's the CF until otherwise notified and that he's not going to beg off the position if the team wants him to be there. If the Reds really wanted to make the switch, all they'd have to do is go to Jr. and tell him it was time to move. I doubt he'd complain about it. He strikes me as the sort who just tries to do the best at whatever he's asked to do.
