I missed that. I saw him run back for something, but wasn't sure what it was. That's bad.

    Re: 6-3 Arroyo vs Pettitte

Reds now 3 games back and Albert Pujols likely headed to the DL for the first time in his career. Now is the time to make hay if the Reds are going to keep this interesting for the rest of the year.

"He's going to miss a significant period of time," said manager Tony La Russa. "Anywhere from little significant to real significant. We can't tell for another 18-24 [hours]. But it's something we've got to deal with."

Neither Paletta nor La Russa was willing to venture a guess as to the time Pujols will be out, but it's extremely unlikely to be short.

"If you told me right now he'd be out two weeks, I'd buy you dinner the rest of the year," La Russa said in his postgame news conference.

Right now they are for real, but it would be a bit easier lifting to finally miss someone's ace in one of these three game series...

One thing that bodes well for the Reds this season is that they are playing very well within the division (20-12). Cards are now below .500 vs. the Central (13-14). Oddly enough the Cubs are 14-10 within the Central (and fortunately 8-22 outside )

At this stage, some of the key team splits look good for the Reds.

    Home record 15-11
    Road record 16-13
    1-run games: 12-5
    vs. Righties: 19-15
    vs. Lefties: 12-9
    RS/RA: +10
ERA: middle of the NL pack -- tied for 8th (4.42)

Not a single Redszoner, hell, not a single human could have imagined those numbers heading into June 4th. That's just awesome. Now, here's to the boys in Red keeping it up the rest of the summer!!!

Bronson Arroyo's next scheduled start is Thursday vs the Cubs. Guess who is starting for the Cubs? You guessed it, Glendon Rusch. You think he will throwing any fastballs down the middle to Arroyo this time?

From today's Houston Chronicle. They'd give Freel the save.
