We are (for the most part) American. The more we get, the more we want. Most Yankees fans I know, no matter how they boast, secretly regard 26 world titles as a wash if they don't win this year, every year. That is the American way. I don't like it myself, but I get to watch baseball in return for being American, so it's a decent trade-off. It will be this way no matter how close to the playoffs we get, it would behoove us all to get used to it.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

    See. Cards win.

The Reds would never, ever gut out a win like that one that the Cards just gutted out.
The Cards won when the SS threw the ball away. I could see you at least suggesting what you did if Eckstein had come through with a hit, but he simply grounded what should have been an easy out.

    Don't confuse "gut" with "luck'.

At the Vet that smell was urine, usually, not vomit. But point taken.

I thought they'd be a .500 team, but I expect a winner. 11 seasons of futility is too much. I'm at the end of my rope when it comes to following an inconsequential franchise.

We just want you to be happy, FCB. You donated your first born for the good of the site.

You wear your passion on your sleeve, for all to see. Even though you're generally considered to be clinically insane, we still love you and want the best for you.

You can do it, man!!!!! Deep breaths..... focus...... look at that beautiful green field.... listen to the popcorn vendors.....

Go to your happy place.... we know you've got one.

    It's baseball, mon.... hooray baseball.

Try being a Knicks fan for a couple days. After that, the Reds will be an oasis.

They had a winning season in 2000.....but your point is well taken. No playoffs since 1995.

    No playoffs...nobody remembers!
