Didn't think so, but that QS seems an odd stat, 6 innings and 3 earned counts as one, when to me 6innings with 3 earned is stinky.Originally Posted by Falls City Beer

Like i have said before.....Don Drysdale spins in his grave ANYTIME a quality start is called 6 innings and 3 ER.
You could hear his veins pop over the radio when he did Angels games in the the late 70's ...and Dodgers games in the late 80's until his death..... when that subject would be broached. Mainly in the late 80's of course, beacuse that bad Bill james stat was not really bantered about until the the middle to late 80's.
Please tell me Freel was NOT trying to hit one out?
Please tell me he was trying to do what he is best at....hit a line drive or hard ground ball...so he allows a real power hitter to come up.
I won't tell you...but that's not why the game was lost.Originally Posted by Tony Cloninger

I thought i would pipe in with my scapegoat during this latest losing streak.
Might as well be Kamakaze Feel.
And stop calling me Shirley.
I just got back from the game.
5 Brewers fans asked me why Rich is batting clean-up.
The offense was terrible against a bad pitcher, and why wasn't Felipe playing? Is Narron developing one of his 'crushes' for Castro? IMO Freel and Felipe should NEVER both rest on the same day.
Good baserunning in the 1st inning by BP and Dunn, ran ourselves right out of that inning and that set the tempo for the entire game.
The rotation was not altered to get certain matchups against the Indians and Brewers, as you seem to think. In fact, it was not altered at all. Joe Mays, the #5 starter, was simply skipped over as his scheduled turn happened to fall on an off day. This kept everyone else on their regular five-day cycle, and had the added bonus of giving Bronson Arroyo an extra start before the All-Star Break.Originally Posted by oneupper
