Thankful for Jason Larue. Who's with me?

Shades of Reggie Sanders in the 95 NLCS with Phillips vs. Smoltz.

Yeah, loving that .184 w/ RISP right before the pitcher hits vs. David Ross' .311 AVG and .681 SLG.

But Ross is hurt. Having Larue as second fiddle beats carting around the carcass of, say, Todd Pratt.

Against Smoltz, I would have liked Javier V catching with his lefty bat. I hope Larue has a decent night at the plate.

It's amazing how spoiled Reds fans have gotten what with their backup catchers having career years in two consecutive seasons ('05 Valentin, '06 Ross).

I'm not saying that accuse anyone -- I'm just saying there needs to be a serious reality check on what passes for good catching around here.

    Kearns owns Smoltz.

Possibly by quitclaim deed, I'm not certain.
