I hope Clayton can help us out at the top of the order with some hits tonight. The Brewers order looks so much more tame sans Lee, let's hope Germano is ready to be the man tonight!
I'm glad Miller isn't in the lineup for the Crew tonight. He always seems to do a lot of damage to the Reds. No one is as bad to the Reds as Bill Hall though.
How is Hatte hitting lefties this year?

I know he's on a tear recently, but why not put Rich at 1B since he can only hit lefties, and EE at 3b - since he also kills lefties. Seems you get the best bang for your buck that way. Then again, this is Narron. EE makes an amazing play to save the game yesterday, and he's rewarded with a day off.
In any other job getting a day off would be great. But not this one.

Not as intimidating, but 1-7 is still pretty damn good.Originally Posted by kevinc12345

No Kidding.. its like Lance Berkman's alter ego or Berkman in desguise. Its rediculous how some players just murder us.Originally Posted by justincredible

At least LaRue got pulled. He was either being showcased or ross wasn't entirely 100%. I still can't get over this teams fascination with clayton over possibly letting phillips get more at bats.
at least deno is hitting lower in the lineup. I think he'll put up better numbers there tonight
I agree about Phillips, and BP is actually one of my favorite players in the league, but I think he struggled when moved up in the lineup before the All-Star break. Maybe BP simply feels more comfortable near the bottom of the order, I wish they would give him another shot leading off though...Originally Posted by jack mckeon
He's got moderate power, good reliability (just not lately), and can get on base in a very wide variety of ways (i.e. 2 bunt singles last night). He could be a good lead-off hitter someday for a contending team, hopefully the good-guys in Red
Finally .. we might win some friggin games with those bums out of the lineup.

No doubt 1-7 is an extremely talented group, but Lee was such a cornerstone and exclamation point on their lineup. I guess it would be similar if Dunn was left out of the Reds.Originally Posted by redsfan30

Might as well try Royce in the leadoff spot tonight, Deno wasn't getting on base when he lead off and BP couldn't get on when he was near the top either.
Go get 'em Justin!
Clayton flies out to the warning-track in Center with a 2-0 count, 1 out.
Clayton continues to just-miss his first HR of the season.
Dunn walks on 4 pitches, 1 on and 1 out.
