It seems like whenever someone makes a prediction like this, the Reds do the opposite.Originally Posted by redlegs2370
I don't expect the Reds to score a lot of runs today, but I think it will be more because of Ben Sheets and less the lineup.
That's a good point, but Sheets looks unbeatable.Originally Posted by ThatPitchIsDunn
Will Homer be able to be a Ben Sheets type pitcher for the Reds?
Edwin needs to play. He needs to bat either 3rd or 4th. You have got to have another bat in there. Right now Griff is horrible. He needs to be dropped to about 6th or 7th. I like RA and Hatteberg. But, RA needs to be a fill in player, not the teams everyday 3rd baseman and cleanup hitter.
That at bat is why Castro shouldn't play no matter how good his defense is. You have to put the ball in play.
The guys on FSN Ohio addressed Sheets' development as a pitcher since he came into the league. They noted how he was pretty much a flamethrower initially, but now he can be just as dialed in with the offspeed stuff and control. Today's a great example, as Sheets isn't throwing in the mid-90s, but he's mixing speeds and throwing strikes.Originally Posted by redlegs2370
If Homer can keep developing his secondary pitches, I like his chances to do some impressive things. Just make sure it's not Sheets-like in terms of DL stints.

Someone should say it...
Manos de Oro!
No one expects the butterfly
People keep questioning Sheets and his durability issues.
Especially in the other game thread.
It's ridiculous and uninformed.
Innings pitched:
2001: 151.3 (Entered the league)
2002: 216.7
2003: 220.7
2004: 237.0
2005: 156.7
2006 is the only season that's really been marred.
To say that you would take Harang over Sheets (as some have said in the other game thread) because Sheets isn't durable is homerism at its best.
Brady Clark is living proof that Jim Bowden can't evaluate baseball talent. Not to mention Paul O'Neil!
Wow ... will the Reds even threaten today? I hate losing games like this, you get a good start and absolutely no run support.
0-2 count, Hanrang walks .. 0-2 count next batter, a base hit. Sheesh.
Harang gets out of it. Comeon, we need a run - start hitting the ball.
Double play .. man, this game is frustrating. Teams are going to gain ground if we don't do something .. losing 2 out of 3 to Milwaukee isn't really acceptable, especially after winning the first in the series.
Cubs at up on St Louis 5-1 in the 5th inning .. wow is it going to be frustrating if we can't beat the friggin Brewers and take advantage of the Cardinals being swept.
