Finally after 117 games into the season the hat Narron uses to draw his lineups from puts his best eight into the game at the same time..........now I am really confused, confused as to what were the barriers to inhibit this from happening earlier. So now the question remains for me, what keeps the manager, the boss, from moving Griffey from the 3 spot until his struggles have passed, and moving Phillips to short and Aurilia to 2nd to keep his best eight in the lineups in between resting players from time to time.

Finally an intelligent lineup from Narron. Senior FlyBall is pitching so he realizes that Aurilia's defense as SS isn't a big deal. That said, this would've been the perfect game to sit Junior, play Freel in CF, and Deno in RF... err....
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Like the lineup....agree that the only real objection is JR (should either be flipped w/Dunn or out of the lineup altogether)....also agree that Dunn should be able to hit the damn ball regardless of where he is in the order.

    Whine, whine.

Whining about the Reds is one thing (it's a Reds' baseball board); whining about the behavior of others who aren't breaking the board's rules should be filtered to the non-BB side.

    Anti-meta-whining!!! Who's with me?!!!

Let's take back Redszone for Reds' fans!!!!

Anyone realize Pete Rose actually beat the hit record twice?

Cobb actually got 4189, not 4191 (scoring mistakes)....

In that case, he still only beat it once. his 4190th broke it.

Unless you say he beat the actual record, and the recorded record...

This may be the first time ever the Reds have gone to Pennsylvania for a series and there's not a single theat of rain for the whole series...

    Today's bright side moment...

    * In the 3-game series against Philadelphia on May 12-14 the mighty REDS offense (yes, w/ FeLo & AK) managed a whopping 5 runs in the whole 3-game series... lost 8-4, 2-0 & 2-1.

    >> The REDS have scored at least 5 runs in each of the 2 games played in this series (yes, w/out FeLo & AK). They have also won 1 more game than they did in May.

    Was I wrong about Edwin?

Besides it's not like Dunn isn't playing.
