offensively, this is the best the lineup we have. Hopefully we can keep the bats going today

Our best 8 offensively, and the order makes perfect sense in theory. In actuality though, Dunn and Hatt should be flipped because Dunn just hits better in the 2 hole with Griff behind him.

Instead of flipping Dunn and Hat I'd flip Dunn and Griffey. Besides that, I really like this lineup.

Griffey needs an off day, and soon, but i guess jerry couldn't live with giving him 2 days off with tomorrow being an off day.

rich at SS doesn't hurt that much because uncle milty is pitching. His GO/FO ratio in his last 4 or 5 starts has been close to .25. That means 4 flyouts for every ground out he induces. So RA's horrible range doesn't hurt that much, and it gets his bat in the lineup.

Exactly. Today's as good a day as any to try RA at SS.

I thought for sure that Jr. would get the day off today.

    Re: Game Thread 8-13-06

Here are the actual stats on milton.

In his 2 august starts, his GO/FO ratio is .35 (on the season it's .53). March and april he was a whole lot closer to 1 (.83) so that pushes his season average up a little bit. However, everyone knew milty was a fly ball pitcher, so no big deal as long as he limits the homers and BBs.

His WHIP in July/August has been 1.23, a very good number.

Lefties are only hitting .202 against milton, whereas righties are hitting .267. If I was the Phils manager, I'd stack the lineup with righties. Here's hoping he doesn't.

Great offensive lineup. Like most I would like to see griff and Dunn switched, but i'd also like to switch Rich and BP around defensively. The kids got range lets see what he can do there.
