Even though the Cards lost, we have to win today.

Good point. The futility of the bench, and the inherent lack of depth, has really become an increasingly visible weakness as the team grinds it's way through the 'dog days.' Toss in the continued attrition and volatility in the bullpen, and the recent combination of more frequent implosions by the starters, and extended August slumps by 1/2 of the starting 8 in the lineup... and it's little wonder we are headed back towards the wrong side of .500 at the very time that we need to be making our push.

Nice pitch selection by Hollandsworth. Hits a ball off his shoetops.

Tired Ryan Freel gets his 3rd hit. Man, if he were not so tired those probably would have been home runs. Then he scored from 1st on a double. Man, that boy is tired. :

Sportsline appears to have frozen. What did Clayton do?

Oh dear lord. An appearance from Stormy....thus assuring a victory tonight, and perhaps a cakewalk the rest of the way to the playoffs.

Hey, at least he made contact. Probably feels like an achievement of epic proportions when you've whiffed in 5 of your first 6ABs with a new team. If he keeps up this kind of contact, he might see the sunny side of a 200OBP by year end.
