Clay Kirby.
Fred Norman.
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.
too obvious, I am looking for arcane esoterica, like Fred Kendall or even Champ Summers
I was thinking Ed Sprague Sr., but baseball-reference.com is down and I wanted to double check to see if I am wrong/right.

Randa for Cormier and Guardado...
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Gene Locklear for Fred Norman. Bobby Tolan and Dave Tomblin for Clay Kirby.
Greg Vaughn, although here a short time, was one of the main reasons we did what we did in 1999.
sorry we're boring
nice screwball, number 32
30 years later...
For awhile during the 2000's it seemed as if the REDS would trade for any Pirates LH pitcher who could beat them; the only one they could not succeed in trading for was Oliver Perez (thank goodness it seems).

Didn't we do Bip Roberts for Randy Myers (Am I remembering that right?)
Bip was a very good player for a few years.
I was trying to remember who we got when we traded Rassmussan to the Padres. It might not have been anyone good, but I was trying to remember.
Also, don't forget about Carlemo Martinez (He might've been FA, I can't recall)
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Please, I'm trying to forget Carmello the Marshmello....

Dennis Rasmussen:
I do not remember Candy Sierra!June 8, 1988: Traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the San Diego Padres for Candy Sierra.
I really liked Bip Roberts, though; he was a sparkplug, a "scrappy!" player who could probably play for JN. His best year was 1992, when he was an all-star for the Reds; unfortunately for Bip, he never rose to those heights again.
Bip indeed came to the Reds in exchange for Randy Myers and a PTBNL:
http://www.baseball-reference.comDecember 8, 1991: Traded by the San Diego Padres with a player to be named later to the Cincinnati Reds for Randy Myers. The San Diego Padres sent Craig Pueschner (minors) (December 9, 1991) to the Cincinnati Reds to complete the trade.
