Sadly, Adam just can't afford to take strikes....because then it becomes walks or outs. He is a batters' count hitter, after 1 strike he suffers, after 2 it gets really really ugly.

It's all about adjusting after getting behind in the count, something Adam admittedly struggles with. He likes to sit on fat pitches, and you just can't do that when you're behind in the count. That's about all that seperates him from the Ryan Howards, David Ortiz, and to a lesser extent the Albert Pujols of the world. He's all or nothing in the count, they're all over hitter's counts, yet still produce decently when faced with pitcher's counts.

    Bay adds 2 more.

    Pirates up 7-4.

I'm glad there's a good game on TV tonight.

Ryan Franklin pitching in close games might be one of the dumber things to happen this season. Scratch that. Remove "might". Insert "is".

Marty just completely going off on the Reds team right now. Unreal.

Agreed. Narron is like a beaten wife who refuses to press charges against her husband.

Now Marty is on his soap box, he does a hack job announcing the game tonight and rips Edwin for what seemed like 3 minutes and then rips the fans for wanting Narron fired. Marty is killing me tonight.

Well, don't fret, our two effective relievers, Weathers and Shoenweis, each well rested, are still in the bullpen. If Reds tie it up they are around.

Why haven't they pitched you ask? Why did we have a Franklin v. Bay matchup there?

    Perfect analogy.

I hope Bob Castallini is listening tonight and calls Marty to the carpet for being a washed up hack.

A few minutes after complaining that people keep complaining about the ballclub, Marty states "We have seen every weakness of this ballclub tonight" - which we have. But the irony still continues to kill me.
