    I don't think it's so much that people don't expect it to happen, it's just that they hope it's not so soon.

    Ugh. He's only 27. He's competing well in a pennant race. He's a good pitcher. Gotta go easy on the "career norm" stuff with younger players.

    What are we talking? A 4-year ML "career"? There were a good number of competitors for Lohse's services when the Reds got him. He is highly thought of among scouts and his talent is coming into its own now. Just look at him on the mound--he has good command and is a pitcher not a throw. Rare and valuable.

    Rogers, Moyer, and to some extent Schilling were late bloomers it does happen from time to time.
