Taguchi was safe if the ball gets cut or not. Pujols just assumed the throw was going through and he got caught only to have McCarver defend him for "trading an out for a run."

Seriously, it boggles my mind someone associated with baseball would make that comment. I mean, any player from knothole on knows you don't get caught in between bases by a cut throw.
Apparently it's ok if you run yourself out of an inning to trade 1 run scoring that would have scored no matter what.
They could of opened up the stadium for free (for the fans) and had 2 night games with fan noise. If they did not have enough position players, could of gotten a few minor league players.
