Could somebody in the Phily area go over to FCB's house and take the whisky bottle out of his hands before he gets totally out of control.

We here at RZ thank you in advance.

Yeah, the 75 Reds had a pitcher the caliber of Chris Carpenter or Adam Wainwright.

The 75 Reds were obviously better offensively, but that's really the only area where they had a pronounced edge on this year's Cards.

And where does Jeff "DFA" Weaver fall into the mix on this vaunted staff?

    Or Sidney Ponsone?

The Cards are a perfect example that anything can happen if you just get your foot in the door and make it to the playoffs..... They won 82 games... or was it 83?

I don't know, but he's going to get the W in the deciding game of the WS.

I hope Wayne's watching and watching well. Because that IDIOT could have prevented the Cards from making it to the postseason at all.

    Stugatz!

Come on, FCB. Seriously! Don Gullett was every bit as good as Carpenter and that team had 3 relievers a full run better than the league average and Borbon was 0.68 better. And every one of those relievers threw over 100 innings.

The '75 Reds finished with the 3rd best ERA in the league that year.

There wasn't a single aspect of the game that the '75 Reds didn't do better than the 2006 Cards.

Don Gullett threw 160 innings in 75. And wasn't exactly coming off a Cy Young season the previous year either, like Carpenter.

Casey doubles. Tying run coming to the plate. Great series for Casey. 9 for 17 in the series.

If I'm Leyland I tie up Magglio and burn him with cigarettes the entire flight back to Detroit.
