About as convincing a victory as you're going to see. I hate the Cards, but it's kind of nice the NL's got the magic back.

People will be dropping that NL is a doormat stuff fast.

Congrats Cardinals, they certainly earned it.

My first thought: Dang, we beat them in the season series. Makes you wonder...

Although I would have liked to see this town go crazy, the Cards simply out played the Tigers. Congrats to them, they definitely deserve it.

That 1-9 West Coast Road Trip...could have cost us the World Series

    Congrats to the Cards.

Maybe someday we will have an organization to be proud of like the city of St. Louis.

I think it's funny that people fawn all over neverwuzzes like the Twins for replacing the stiffs in their lineup with decent younger hitters, but the Cards get no credit for fixing their bully by handing over the reins to a rookie like Wainwright. So he turned into Trevor Hoffman on 'em and will likely tie up the WS in a bow tonight in the ninth for the Cards--give credit where it's due.

I'd give both of my eyeballs to have a GM who could evaluate talent like that and make the necessary moves to get it right.
Izzy is injured. The bullpen nearly lost the Cards the division, then got hot in the playoffs. Where was the evaluation of talent? These were things that happened out of necessity, not foresight. Talk about rambling.

First things first: find a GM to get the job done.

Well considering Castellini is a former St. Louis man, I think we might have a chance. It may be a few years though.

They could have gone out and gotten some FA guy or trade to plug into the closer's spot--instead they made the right call and turned it over the rookie with unhittable stuff. And they were smart enough to promote Kinney and stick with Thompson and Johnson. They turned a deficiency into a strength, all in house. That's what a good GM and pitching coach can do.
