Got this in an e-mail from my Bengals-luvin' father...
An elementary teacher starts a new job at a school in Chicago, Illinois and trying to make a good impression on her first day explains to her class that she's a Bears fan.
She asks the class to raise their hands if they too are Bears fans.
Everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl. The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says: "Mary, why didn't you raise your hand?"
"Because I'm not a Bears fan," she replied.
The teacher, still shocked, asks: "Well, if you're not a Bears fan, then whom do you support?"
"I'm a Colts fan, and proud of it," Mary replied.
The teacher could not believe her ears. "Well Mary, might you explain why are you a Colts fan?"
"Because my mom and dad are from Indianapolis and my mom is a Colts fan and my dad is a Colts fan, so I'm a Colts fan too!"
"Well," said the teacher, in an obviously annoyed tone, "that's no reason for you to be a Colts fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mom was a prostitute and your dad was a drug addict and a car thief, what would you be then?"
Mary said, "I'd be a Bengals fan."
Close call. Potential winner?
Bengals cornerback Johnathan Joseph pleaded not guilty Monday morning in Burlington to a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.
Boone District Judge Michael Collins said Joseph is eligible for diversions because he has no prior record.
Diversion is a program for first-time offenders that generally requires the defendant to complete drug abuse education classes and community service in exchange for the charges being dropped.
However, last year's first-round draft pick will have to attend treatment sessions as a first-time violator of NFL policy. Punishment is spelled out in the league's collective bargaining agreement and is out of the Bengals' control.
A second violation would bring a four-game suspension, and the third strike brings one-year banishment.
Joseph was taken into custody at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 22 after a car in which he was a passenger was stopped at U.S. 42 and Braxton Road. A Boone County sheriff's deputy said he stopped the 1999 gold Ford for weaving in and out of lanes at a slow rate of speed. A police report states the vehicle crossed the centerline three times.
The police report states the deputy searched a Super Bowl backpack Joseph was holding after smelling a strong odor of marijuana during the traffic stop. Marijuana was found in the backpack next to a video game system, deputies said.
Joseph, of Union, did not speak with reporters during his brief court appearance. Robert Lotz of Covington represents him.
His next court date is Feb. 22 at the Boone County Justice Center.

Your Mom is happy.
Sounds like a winner to me. A diversion just means he won't get in trouble for it basically.
"Joseph was taken into custody at 2:15 a.m"
'taken into custody' = arrested
Sorry folks, that's an arrest from last month, not a new one.
