    Because he's the 4th outfielder.

Yeah, I forgot about that. I think Trent's blog mentioned it.

It is, however, one of the best oxymorons I've ever seen.

I know I posted this somewhere, but according to the latest SI, the Seattle Mariners got a .667 OPS from their DHs last season, so maybe it's not as rare as you'd think.

And batting 6th as well. I think I know who was with Larussa last night.

    INTERESTING. That's good news.

Like the new game thread forum. It looks nice.

Collegiate lefty who got to the majors really fast- a year after signing. First-round sandwich pick, 2004. Dominant while at the U. of Texas. Finesse guy. Crafty, if he were older. Looks possibly headed for something of an "AAAA" designation, as he's already mastered AAA but tends to get hit in the bigs.

Although, if you ask me, the Rays will get the better end of the deal with KC for Gathright. As fun as Joey would be to watch play, he can't hit or get on base consistently in the majors and isn't a starting-quality outfielder. Howell, on the other hand, could definitely get better. Surprising that Dayton Moore dealt him away, given that he was a Braves HS pick in the 2nd round in 2001.

(EDIT: That was post 5,000. Yay, me.)

Beware of those pitchers the Braves trade away, they are not usually wrong on who to let got. Bubba and Bong come to mind.
