conine did it backwards.
Somebody ought to quietly sit Mr. Phillips down and tell him that all his fancy leads, bluffed starts, and dancing on the basepaths only hurts things. I don't remember Maury Wills or Lou Brock doing any of that stuff.
Somebody ought to tell Reds management that a right handed power hitter in the middle of the lineup might help against lefties.

Conine makes a weird out on a ball A. Jones tried to not hit. One out.
McCann flies to Dunn. Two out.
Francouer called out on strikes. Three out.
End 4 zip-zip

If Conine was going to try that he should have just thrown to 2nd before stepping on the bag. Pretty smart play by Chipper to just stay.

Hitters who avoid outs are the funnest.

Thom asking if Jo-Jo is the only Jo-Jo to play in the majors.
He is not - there were at least three others - Moore, Morrissey and White.
Jo-Jo was also a man who thought he was a loner, but he knew it wouldn't last.
Ross with a gapper to deep right. Francouer almost catches it. Double.

The Reds production from the 8th spot in their lineup is ranked 15th in the NL (.207/.251/.356). Just for comparison here's what they're getting from the 9th spot: .175/.221/.243.
Catcher has been a huge blackhole for the Reds.
