Even though they have never ever done anything to me personally, I hate peas.

I hate celery, I have to deal with that a lot, but meat is a tad different, I don't want it on my plate, I don't want it in my soup (broth etc) but I'm not afraid of it, I'm the one who cooks and prepares most of my wifes meat dishes and I wear leather so it's not a "poor cud chewing pasture animal" moment for me.

I just don't lick my fingers after I cook it, nor use the plate (for me) that I put the meat on in the cooking process.

I'm similar to this. I'm not afraid of meat per se, I just don't want it on my plate. I make my father meatballs quite often, but have those restaurant gloves to roll them up with, so I don't have to get it on my hands. I really don't care for the smell or mess that frying meat makes, but it's a small sacrifice for my dad. I also cook out on the grill, but bought one of those dual sided grills, so my side is meat-free. No beef, chicken or whatever else kind of broth for me either.

I was mostly annoyed by the fact that she (the waitress) acknowledged that the cook made a mistake by keeping the bacon on my plate, but did not correct the error before bringing it to me.

Oh well, today I had a fantastic margherita pizza for lunch to celebrate Columbus Day. What will next week bring me
