Amen. Besides, how's Hamilton going to learn to hit lefties...if he's never allowed to hit against lefties?

Ellison is the outfield version of Juan Castro.

That may be true but did you really have to put it in those terms? Thanks for ruining my day.

So no Red should play in all 10 games, I keep an eye out for that.

    Yankees vs. Red Sox

    Angels vs. Mariners

    Mets vs. Phillies

    Cubs vs. Brewers

    Diamondbacks vs. Padres

    REDS VS. PIRATES

Great time of the year to have Great Series.

...and the REDS and Pirates are the two hottest clubs of them all. I'd be shocked if the 4-game series finishes anything other than 2-2.

excepting that it's even worse when you are an OF that hits like a SS.

Ellison stinks. Now that I have said that he will get two hits. :

I don't agree that lefty hitters should play against all lefties for the purpose of letting them "learn" to hit lefties.

Hamilton is weaker against lefties and having him strike out 7 or 8 times in a double header is not optimal. He may play game two, but this pitcher in game one is very tough on lefties. So it is appropriate to sit Hammy for this game.

It's too bad the Reds don't have some better righty hitters. So, instead, they use Ellison in this game, bat him eighth, maybe he contributes defensively or gets a hit. I'm sure if they had Soriano or Vlad to play left field he would be in there.

I'm sure if they had Cody Ross no one would have a problem with him being in there.

Like I said when they acquired Ellison, he was not a temporary stopgap(as I was assured he would be) the FO actually believes he is a useful player.

Look at all those Pirates fans behind home plate!

Attendance at this first game is of Little League proportions.
