Encarnacion follows Cantu's homer with a single, and Valentin walks. Runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out and Ellison up now. I'd say it's time for Ellison to actually do something productive offensively for once while in a Reds uniform.

It would've been nice to actually had a hitter up there.

Oh, I agree 100%. But odds are Hamilton wouldn't do much vs Gorz anyway. Potentially Dunn as well, since he isn't exactly lighting the world on fire vs LHPs this season.

I think Dunn should be starting vs Gorz and Ellison should be starting for the LI Ducks.

It's rather painful to think that Jason Ellison is here, which keeps a Joey Votto or a Jay Bruce in Louisville...

kinda sad to have to see an inning die on the bats of Ellison, Gonzo and Hopper.

Did Norris Hopper even swing at a strike in that atbat? I saw him swing at at least two at his eyes. I can't stand watching hitters do that.

The Reds let that inning die on the hands of three near automatic outs.

Not really...Bruce and/or Votto wouldn't see much time vs RHPs, b/c of the presence of Hatte, Dunn, Hamilton and Griffey. They should be still in Louisville the way the roster is currently structured.

Probably every pitch that Hopper swings at around his chest ends up as a pop up in the stands.

Fearless prediciton: The Reds score at least two runs this inning.

I have a feeling the offense will eventually come back to be a factor in this game, it is a question as to whether or not the bully keeps the Bucs at 6.
