It may have only been the Pirates, but Aaron Harang made sure we won a game we're supposed to win. A CG SHO 2-hitter! He deserves all the credit he can get....masterful performance. jump: :notworthy

His WHIP (sub 1.1) has him about 5th in the bigs.

I must say I really enjoy it when a lineup that is ridiculed goes out and bangs.

I don't see the problem with tonight's lineup.

The Hammy/ Griff/ Dunn juggernaut will wreak havok in September for many playoff contenders.

Add Keppinger/ Phillips/ EE/ Valentin/ Gonzo/ Hatte make the lineup pretty scary on a nightly basis.

Just got back from the game! What a performance by Harang! If he isn't an ace, then I don't know who is.

As always, I had a great time at PNC Park. If you have never been there, you need to go. I would like to give a shout-out to Bob the Usher in Section 114. I have had tickets in that section many times, and he always remembers me and takes care of me and my group.

The Reds' record in games that I have attended this season now stands at 10-3. (They are 10-1 in games in which someone other than Eric Milton was the starting pitcher!) I think I should be offered some sort of position with the organization or something!

No, and he moved up 6 spots after tonight's performance.

What a game by Harang tonight!

Krivsky may not be long for the GM job, but he did a hell of a job getting Harang inked to a sensible long-term deal that keeps him a Red.

Krivsky may not immediately have been the perfect GM, but I see good in a lot of what he does/ has done. I hope he can grow and improve, rather than putting the organization through the turmoil of another regime change. Remember, he has still only been on the job for approx. a year and a half.

I keep hearing and reading that the Reds can't win with a good offense and HR hitters. (bullspit)

Heck, The Reds have hit HR's and scored lots of runs the last seven seasons.

All we need is some Pitchers that don't give up lots of HR's and runs scored.

There is really no way to describe batting Gonzo 2nd instead of Hatty, it's back to this entire breaking up the lefties theory that seems to always drive batting order placement if you are a Reds manager. Of course it won't matter if they can't get to Snell and the construction of the lineup certainly isn't going to maximize their chances.
Not a bad line up last night. Every position player had a hit, every starter scored a run except EE and everyone knocked one in except for Dunn, Hatte and EE. And seven runs off of Snell - I'm glad we didn't get to him.

The only thing that got ripped was Gonzalez batting 2nd. Then he goes out and gets 3 hits. It's the way it's supposed to work.

It does seem to work that way, doesn't it. You'd think with all the ripping that goes on at RZ that most of these guys would be hitting like Murderers Row!
