    Welch and T. Brennaman were saying that Mackanin said that Hamilton was playing tonight because it's time for the Reds to find out if Josh is an 'everyday player'----meaning could he hit lefties.

    That answers (partially) a question about whether or not the Reds were going to see if Josh is a full-time player. It also brings up the question: what took ya' so long? And, as Josh strikes out, are you willing to play him everyday until Oct. to find out or is this a short-term audition?
