The "somber" routine from Sabean is so touching on the Giants feed

I repeat. Lefthanders are Kryptonite to the Reds. Phillips is pushing so hard, he couldn't hit Mike Stanton tonight. And he's a righthander.

BTW, do posts in the game thread not count anymore? I've been stuck on 4,943 for awhile.

Phillips, with 29 homers, seems to be swinging for the downs these days.

The Reds next homerun will be the 200th of the season and the third consecutive year they hit 200+ homeruns in a season.

Yeah, he's really messing with his game right now.

I'm missing Adam and Ken in the lineup. It's kind of boring without them.

And of all the times for Adam to be out when his parents flew from Houston to see him play.

Don't tell Phillips. He'll get worse.

EdE singles to leadoff the top of the 6th and Cantu follows with his second double of the night. EdE holds at 3rd with 0 outs for Votto, who is 1-for-2 with a single.

    Cantu can hit.

If the Reds had the knack for getting pitchers like they do with hitters -- they might be someplace.

Votto got ahead 3-0 and then grounded out to 2B to score EdE on a 3-1 count.

    3-2 Giants.

Productive out by Votto, then productive base hit by Ellison.
