1st shutout for the REDS since July 29 when Carlos Zambrano threw a 3-hitter at them in GABP.

Alex Gonzalez pinch hitting with two outs in the ninth.

The Giants' Brian Wilson showing us 97-98 MPH heat.

The Reds AAAA club loses. And so they should have.

Not to belabor the point, but in the last ten games they've pitched in, they have been worse than horrible.

Bray - 7.2 in allowing 7 hits and 9 earned runs for a 11.25 ERA

Majewski - 6.1 innings allowing 12 hits and 6 earned runs for a 9.00 ERA

Together, these guys that Krivsky expects to anchor the bullpen have allowed 19 hits in 14 innings and 15 earned runs.

Why do you bring them in in the situation they were brought in tonight? Short answer? There was no one else and if Krivsky thinks these are anchors, I'm really worried. He has a lot of work to do on the bullpen whether he wants to admit it or not.

People talk about Bill Bray as if he were some kind of lock. Where that comes from I still have no idea.

    FCB...

It comes from the trade. Those who support this administration with great passion have to justify why we gave up two starters (as poor as they are or as great as they were--your opinion) for two relief pitchers--one who was very hittable and another who was a shot in the dark. So, you have to believe that Bray is all that.

From the TV crew to the radio crew and the GM himself, all we've heard is that Bray was the key to the trade. My pointing out that his statistics are not that great get the usual "small sample size" comment as if hismajor league career of 63 games doesn't tell the story of a kid. A kid who might be good someday or maybe never:

    G - 63
    IP - 62.2
    H - 71
    R - 35
    BB - 22
    SO -51
    ERA-4.45

His WHIP is 1.48 while Mike Stanton's is 1.35, Danny Graves' is 1.40. I don't see anything but potential and not much of that. I sure the stats guys will roll out all the fancy stuff that shows he is a stud, btu I don't see it.

I hope the kid does well and becomes what everyone thinks he his, but for now, he's a liability just like most of our bullpen.

I go away for one night and the Reds bullpen implodes....

    Oh, wait....that's normal.

    Oh well!
