Thom is really annoying. He just tries too hard to be clever. Geez.

Votto has been getting to a lot of 3-ball counts lately and getting out. Still, even with his struggling in the last week or so it's still good to see him having long atbats and making the pitcher work.

Salmon gets two quick outs after McBeth struggled to open ninth inning.

Salmon looked very good. The ball just explodes out of his hands. I really think he has a chance to be an above average major league reliever, and very soon. He could be a huge addition to the Reds bullpen next season.

No offense to you Matt but....

I have a hard time believing Marty actually comprehends what he sees.

At one time Marty was a Great Announcer but he has never been a very good judge of talent.

Agreed. I've been disappointed that he hasn't had more innings. His numbers are SO much better than Majewski's, Coffey's or McBeth's that you really have to wonder what's going on. I think he needs work on his secondary stuff -- that's where a better workload could have helped him -- but his fastball appears dominant at times and he's not afraid to challenge hitters with it over the plate. Prior to his last callup they stretched him out to 2-3 inning outings, but he hasn't sniffed that kind of role since -- too bad.
