Hal says he talked to Wayne today about the managerial possibilities...

Wayne says he won't discuss it until he talks with Pete about the direction they're looking to go...and his status.

For the 1st time since April 8th...EE gets the OPS over .800

August/ September combined well over .900

Just got in and noticed that - a very pleasing surprise.

A win today would be very nice, in order to get some momentum built for the upcoming Cubs series. I do not want to see our Reds help that club waltz into the playoffs.

I'm really OK with Belisle being a starter next year again..despite the fact that he'll probably blow up and have a 5 run inning real soon.

I think his stuff and command are good enough to win in this league....his 'pitching' and poise just need to come around. We've had too much of the 'know how to pitch' with lousy stuff for the last 7 years.

    I'm leary...but if they have a solid 3 and 4 (not a patchwork 3 and 4) and he's truely the #5...then maybe.

I don't trust him to be much better than a 5....he's too inconsistant.

He's way more effective from the pen.

Thom just asked Jeff if the Dukes of Hazard (one Z or two?) was more popular in the south because it took place in the south when it actually took place closer to Cincinnati than Alabama where Jeff grew up.

I guess neither of them know that it took place in Hazard County, Kentucky.

Doesn't this assume that a pitcher can't progress over his previous work?

That wouldn't be fair of me, I'm just not convinced he will....he's been here long enough to see his trends...

He hasn't shown me he's anything getting all ga ga over, but I think he can serve a role on this team somewhere.

He's worth a look, but don't go into spring training counting on him being a key to the rotation...try to improve the pitching regardless.

He's there if you need him.
