I was reading this post and wondering how anyone could think Encarnacion didn't fulfill his potential. Took me a bit to realize the post was from 2007!

    1. Homer Bailey
    2. Jay Bruce
    3. Joey Votto
    4. Johnny Cueto
    5. Travis Wood
    6. Drew Stubbs

    7. Chris Valaika
    8. Sam LeCure
    9. Milton Loo
    10. Sean Watson
    11. Paul Janish
    12. David Shafer
    13. Calvin Medlock
    14. Tyler Pelland
    15. Josh Hamilton
    16t. Josh Ravin
    16t. Cody Strait
    18. Justin Turner
    19. Jon Coutlangus
    20. Wirfin Obispo

2007 is also the year the Reds drafted Devin Mesoraco, Todd Frazier, and Zack Cozart. We may never see a better group of Reds prospects in our entire lives.
That's two former MVPs, seven All-Stars, and nine guys who had substantial roles over multiple seasons in the major leagues.

It would be interesting to see how that ranked historically among Red farms and the best of each club.

Here's hoping we're talking about Greene, Lodolo, Stephenson and Garcia, and Hendricks the same way down the road.

Not sure which is sadder ... the state of the Reds' farm system back then when I made the original post, or the fact that 13 years later, most of us in that thread are still waiting for the Reds to win something!
